Shimmers has always been facinated with the baking world. She always loved how cakes were transformed to beautiful pieces of art and how something beautiful could just light up someones day.
When she was young, she always loved (and tried) being with her mum in the kitchen, "trying" to pick up some tricks of the trade in making better cakes, cookies and other desserts. But somehow, she started to grow-up and life distracted her.
She always wanted to make a living by doing the things she loved - baking. But she didn't really have the support she needed, and in the end, joined the IT world.
Then the cupcake phase started, it became quite a trend in Kuala Lumpur and is slowly being popular in Penang. That's when her "love" started to be awake and she was all pumped up to experiment and make her own cupcakes!
After lots of experiments and dissapointments (wrong recipies, wrong consistencies, flavours..etc) she finally got it, and figured "why not?" to start something, though she knows there's much more to learn (new recipies, icing techniques..etc).
So SINCE her mother has always been baking (for Christmas, family and friends), she thought why not make this a joint venture, make it like a mother-and-daughter venture and...tadaa!!! here's presenting Shimmering Oven to you!
